Property Expert, Journalist & TV presenter Kunle Barker began his construction career whilst studying for a MA at the University of Leeds. In 2004 Kunle set up Illustrious Homes an award-winning construction and design management company, specialising in delivering high profile projects, on time, on budget and on quality.
To date, Kunle Barker has completed over 8000 residential refurbishments, 120 schools and three sports centre refits as well as countless private renovations.

  • Appointed by RIBA as an ‘Ambassador of Architecture and Design to promote the importance of good design management.
  • Part of the UK Construction panel of experts delivering talks and lectures on all aspects of the construction industry.
  • Regular contributor writing construction specials and Q & A columns for Grand Designs Magazine.
  • Appointed as Media 10 resident expert and presenter for Grand Designs Live and Ideal Home Shows.

Kunle speaks on construction and building topics at Grand Designs Live and UK Construction Week alongside Kevin McCloud, and is part of the expert line up for Ideal Home Show with Charlie Luxton & Phil Spencer. This year, Kunle has been selected as the main presenter & curator for Grand Designs Live.
Regarded highly in the industry, he sits on expert panels for construction and property events working closely with Kevin McCloud. He regularly writes for national publications and Grand Designs Magazine offering expert advice on all things property related. Kunle regularly produces video content, which is published on his Kunle Barker TV YouTube channel.


Audrey Yeo

Vice President, GROHE Marketing Vice President, IKAM Asia

Based in Singapore, Audrey Yeo is currently the Vice President of Marketing for GROHE under LIXIL Water Technology. She is responsible for steering the business growth through solid marketing strategy, defining strong and relevant product portfolio, synergising all brand communications and public relations initiatives for GROHE across the Asia Pacific region. Working closely with local teams, she drives activities to raise the brand’s profile in line with GROHE’s global and regional marketing directives.

Audrey also assumes the role of Vice President, IKAM Asia (International Key Account Management). Tasked to initiate and drive engagement with key business partners – architects & designers, developers, real estates and hoteliers, she also focuses on demand creation and elevation of brands – GROHE, American Standard and Inax.

Janet Salem is an expert in sustainable consumption and production. She has worked for the United Nations for over 13 years in Paris, Vienna and now Bangkok for the last seven years where her focus is on Asia and the Pacific.

Her work has focused on government partnerships to develop policies in a range of sectors, including sustainable hotels, ecolabels, green buildings, education, media and sustainable development. More recently, her work has evolved to private sector partnerships to enable sustainable consumption and production across e-commerce, food delivery, shopping malls, transport, venture capital and food systems.  Janet manages the Asia Pacific Low Carbon Lifestyles Challenge, which supports startups that offer circular economy business models that help us live more sustainable lifestyles. Janet has a Masters in Environmental Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Her previous experience includes Business Strategy and IT Consultancy at IBM and e-Commerce Product Management at HSBC. She graduated with a BSc in Economics and Law from Singapore Management University.

Romolo Valentino Nati is a multi-awarded Italian architect, graduated Summa Cum Laude at La Sapienza-University of Rome and currently the Executive Chairman and CEO of IDC (Italpinas Development Corporation), a publicly listed Italian-Filipino real estate development company that specializes in the design and development of sustainable buildings in emerging cities across the Philippines.

He is also the Vice Chairman of the Philippine renewable energy company Constellation Energy Corporation (CEC) that focuses in acquiring, financing and developing small to medium-scale renewable energy projects across the Philippines country.

Furthermore, he’s Chairman of Damiani Property Management Incorporated (DPMI), a company engaged in property management of green buildings in the Philippines. Within IDC, as an architect, he is in charge of the conceptualization for the design of the company’s real estate products and his remarkable talent has led IDC’s projects to win numerous awards among which two International Property Awards, and to receive the EDGE certification (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) by the IFC World Bank, to name a few.

Romolo V. Nati, who’s been invited at numerous events and conferences as keynote speaker, has been featured in National Geographic Magazine ASIA as “One of the Philippines’ new business leaders “and, in Bloomberg Philippines, as a “Thought Leader”.


Andrew Gulbrandson

Head of Research & Consulting for JLL in Thailand and Myanmar.

Andrew joined JLL’s Research and Consulting group in 2013 and has successfully led or participated in more than 125 engagements across Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia. He has also led a number of ASEAN-wide engagements, including numerous highest and best use studies, feasibility studies, portfolio analyses and market entry studies for new-to-market investors, developers, institutions, corporates and retail brands.

He contributes to and leads the production of regular and bespoke local research publications on Thai and Myanmar real estate markets. Andrew contributes to global and regional research publications such as JLL’s flagship Global Real Estate Transparency Index, Asia Pacific Property Digest and Asia Pacific Property Investment Guide.

Prior to joining JLL Andrew spent seven years consulting widely across East and Southeast Asia, including extensive experience in Thailand, Myanmar the Philippines and China, for the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency. He has also worked for various large public and private sector organisations including national government agencies and leading real estate developers in China, Hong Kong and the Philippines.


Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Memon

Environment Regional Coordinator for Resource Efficiency for the UN Asia Pacific.

Dr. Memon’s work at the United Nations includes sustainable consumption, production, resource circularity, green economy and green financing. He is currently focusing on transport/mobility, housing/living, and production (manufacturing and agriculture) mainly in the context of sustainability.

Previously working at the UN Environment’s International Environmental Technology Centre located in Osaka, Japan, Dr. Memon managed waste, water and urban environmental infrastructure projects. He has also developed and implemented various programmes, projects and initiatives in Africa, Asia and Latin and South America.

Dr. Memon holds a Doctorate degree in environmental economics and a Master’s degree in national development and project planning. He has also published various papers in international journals.

Paul Ashburn

Co-Managing Partner, BDO

Paul Ashburn is the Co-Managing Partner of BDO in Thailand and has over 25 years of tax consulting experience in the Asia Pacific region. His expertise includes international tax planning and the development of tax effective structures for real estate transactions in Thailand.

Paul is a regular contributor to Asia Property Report on Thai tax issues for international property investors and is often invited to speak at international property conferences on Thai tax planning for real estate investment.

Mark Panckhurst has a deep understanding of Asia’s many cultures, earned through two decades of architectural and interior projects. Mark works with public and private sector clients on commercial, residential, broadcasting and retail projects in Southeast Asia, Greater China and the Middle East.

His projects include Phoenix Satellite TV Hong Kong Headquarters, Phoenix International Media Center in Beijing, 2009 East Asian Games Thematic Design in Hong Kong, Great Food Hall in Hong Kong and the Esfahan Meeting Centre in Iran.

A graduate with honours from the University of Auckland’s Architecture programme, Mark is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Bertil‘s 30 plus career year span has brought him vast international experience working around the world for office, retail, residential, masterplanning, hospitality and infrastructure projects. He has worked in Asia for 20 years at various stages of architectural projects, from feasibility study to construction to delivery of completed buildings, taking the role of team leader or project director where his creative leadership has been enjoyed by leading architecture firms such as Farrell’s, RMJM and Atkins.

Bertil is currently Director for Property in Asia Pacific at SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business, predominantly covering architecture, planning and landscape in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Myanmar, Macau, China and Australia.

Chris Andersen is the Chief Marketing Officer for Barfoot & Thompson, which is the largest real estate company in Auckland, New Zealand. He started with the business in October 2017 and is new to the real estate industry. His career to date has spanned many industries including manufacturing, banking, office products, fast food and fast moving consumer goods. Chris is passionate about branding, marketing, and in particular how they interact with technology and data in 2018. He is using his experience in these previous industries and digital roles to create new customer-centric experiences that will keep Barfoot & Thompson at the forefront of innovation in their market.
